Landmarks

Sometimes 

the landmarks 

in out life

seem to disappear.

And everything,

in the distance

becomes hazy and

out of focus.

A barren landscape 

leading nowhere?

Or maybe

a subtler beauty, breath-taking,

like a lovely painting.

Walk on,

the light will break.

Take the beauty

with you.

Reflections

         

Just gazing is enough

to quieten the mind

and leave the complex imagery

in the pool.

But sometimes,

our thoughts, though frozen,

as in ice,

will rise resurrected,

and take on a different hue.

And life is good

and beautiful once more.

Gazing helps.

                                       

Leaf Litter

What a mess!

Every year the same.

The trees become

 litter louts!

Shedding their

 leaves

 all over the pathways

and the the roads.

Making everywhere 

look so

untidy and so.....

colourful!

Nature's jewels

scattered so

 wantonly, so.....

lavishly and

 each one, 

a delicate

delight!

The Joy of Trees

How can anyone

not love trees!

They are such

 rebels.

Stretching

 defiantly

 upwards

touching

the sky.

Defying

the downward pull

that anchors

 them to the earth

tugging them down

 where graves lie. 

Trees laugh

 with joy 

at the gravity

 of the situation.
